About the Redneck Slot Car Club

We are an informal group of slot car racers that meet and race at each others homes, except Junior's seeing as how he got kicked out by his ol lady and is having to stay with at Buster's...but I degress.

We try to race weekly and we keep points so that at the end of the year the member with the most points can take any car from a member of their choosing as a prize.

Currently our members are:
Me-Ricky, Bill, Crazy Ed, Randy, Dale, Earl, Jake, Glenn, Buster, Junior, Quinton, Arnie, and Carlos.

The tracks we race on are six and four lane 1/32 scale scalextric type tracks. Crazy Ed has the largest track at six lanes and a 100 foot run line while Dale’s is the shortest at about a 30 foot run line.

Race Report for January 31, 2009

Location: Ricky's place

Ya’ll I apologize for this late race report. I won’t go into details as to why I didn’t get er done sooner but long story short; I never should have let Ricky Jr. put a goldfish bowl on top of my computer so that he could use the computer’s heat to make his fish Boony more comfortable.

Now on to the good stuff: First things first. As you all may recall, Jake lost all his cars except for one, a couple of weeks ago on highway 26. Good news, Jerry of Jerry’s Snuff-and-Stuff has issued a check to Jake in the amount of five-hundred dollars to help Jake rebuild his stable. When asked why he did it, Jerry said that he had a soft spot for slot car racers because he used to be one in a past life and also because Jake has for years, weekly bought a butt load of snuff for his maw. By the time Junior bought this weeks supply of snuff, he only had about $450 left to buy cars.

Racing was fun and uneventful for a change with Crazy Ed winning the F1 and IRL classes. Jake’s new Jeff Gordon NASCAR earned a trip to the winners circle that night as well as Randy’s Camaro in the Trans Am class. Everyone remember to thank Randy for bringing some of his pappy’s home-made baloney balls for snacks. Remember there is no racing tonight because of the duck-n-deer hunting expo and no racing next week because of the Jerky Barn’s yearly customer appreciation party.
